The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. Adrian will invite you to talk about what has brought you to counselling and what you hope to achieve.
The first session does involve a lot of background information gathering, however this is beneficial for the therapeutic process in subsequent sessions. -
The number of sessions varies depending on your individual goals and circumstances.
Some people benefit from a few focused sessions, while others prefer ongoing support over a longer period. Adrian will work collaboratively with you to review your progress regularly and adjust the approach to best meet your needs. -
Counselling sessions are 60 minutes long.
-
Strictly confidential, in line with PACFA and ACA ethical frameworks.
What you discuss in sessions remains private, except in very rare circumstances where there is a legal or ethical obligation to act (such as concerns about safety).
Adrian will explain confidentiality clearly during your first session so you can feel comfortable and informed.
